tia posted this handwriting challenge on her blog. this chick is such a cReatiVe guru to me. lovin' her Blog. here's my take on the challenge. my handwriting is a little weird. it changes from printing to handwriting in midSenteNce with CAPS in the middle of the same wOrd. must be the mOody girl in me...hopefully you can decipher. don't be shy and say what the ???? if you can't seem to figure out what i'Ve written.
who in the scrapbooking diva world has inspired you the most?
my favorite garden girl is Ali Edwards. when i first caught a glimpse of this LO in CK i was drawn by the WORD design {especially the Large ME). I thought this was the coolest thing. after seeing this LO i was inspired to start my "all about me" album. something about her linear style and color schemes really speaks to me. i love her journaling style too. easy-going and no frilly-foo-foo cookie-cutter phrases.
and of course there's miSs hEidi sWapP i dig her total funky style. i first caught a glimspe of her style in CK a few years back. she wrote an article using foam core in her LO's and she did a gorgeous beach scene with acrylic paint splattered on her page. her stuff was so original {no silly die cuts of corrugated bears in her artwork!}... she inspired me to start an aRt inspiration journal. she's the queen bee of funky style.

i tore this out of a mary englebreit magazine years ago. i think it would be so cool to have altered cupboards in your kitchen. love the torn out book pages and crackled paint. art inspiration is everywhere!

I don't mean reading them in books though I love to read when I have the time. It's just that I don't have much of that. It took me 2 years to get through Charles Dickens' Great Expectations - HA! Besides chasing my toddler and running to the nearby Target and grocery store on a constant basis, most of my free time is devoted to my addiction to scrapbooking. Needless to say getting through a 375 page novel inevitably takes me a few years to absorb.
No, what I mean is I love looking at words in the context of design. Ever since I was a young girl I would collect things that have word designs: greeting cards (such as this "Happy" card, brochures, postcards, magazine clippings, labels. Something about the curve of a J simply appeals to me. Words provide intricate details that just draws the eye.
One of my favorite Autumn Leaves' DW series books is Designing With Words. It's been a major source of inspiration for many of my scrapbook pages. (I've worn that book out from cover to cover so much so that it has fallen apart at the seams!) I am especially inspired by 2Peas owner Kristina Nicolai-White's design style. She's got that shabby-chic style goin' on that I just adore. And her Astrology book is just "out-of-this-world!" HA!
I was so excited to learn that this week's 2Peas Challenge is to incorporate text paper in a LO since it's my favorite design element in scrapbooking. Lisa McGarvey's LO really captivates! She's got a style that just hits home with me. So honored to have been chosen by her for the User Inspiration this month! Still in giddy shock about that.
