Last month I volunteered to chaperone on one of Jessica's GATE (gifted and talent education) program field trips. We went to the Japanese-American Museum in downtown L.A. Awesome architecture!...and PERFECT overcast day for photos (though I had to do this quickly before it began to drizzle)
Imagine 40++ kids in one rickety-rackety yellow school bus (no seat belts-what's that all about??) stuck in morning commute on the 10 Freeway. The bus driver asked the children to use their indoor voices and to speak only to their neighbor. HA! Is she new?
Once inside the museum, we were not allowed to take any pictures. Imagine uttering those words to a scrapbooker who just SURVIVED the yellow bus ride into downtown L.A. or to a group of camera-toting tourists.(thanks Michel for that funny observation!) At least I got a nice shot of the building...
I know this day must have been pure torture for you! Only thing I'm not sure of was it being with 40+ screaming, yelling, annoying little kids or the fact that you couldn't take pictures all day?!?! LOL. You still managed to take a great photo and captured the significance of the day just in what you wrote. Listening to you, seeing your scrap books and knowing you the way I do...you are truly a compassionate person. Your love for your family and the conservation of your memories is a truly valuable gift. I'm thrilled that with your willingness to share and let us be apart of your legacy. Thanks again dear friend! Keep scrappin!
